The water is
aimed at the fire in droplets that seem like a dense
fog. There is a high ratio between the surfaces, the
droplets and the volume of water and the vapour
ratio is very efficient. The latent heat of the
vapour, which is a physical phenomenon associated
with the change from water to vapour, eliminates
much of the BTU heat of the fire, and the vapour
produced helps to suffocate the fire by emitting
oxygen. |
